At an event in Bærums Verk on February 13th, Lundin Norway received the “Company of the Year” award for Bærum municipality. The award was established and is awarded by Nordea in Asker and Bærum and is given to companies or institutions that have made an extra effort in the past year to promote local commerce and industry.
In its citation for the award, the jury placed great emphasis on Lundin Norway’s role as a motivator and stimulator for other companies in the region, both with regard to generating and sharing knowledge, use of Norwegian suppliers and not least when it comes to the will and courage to innovate, among other things by establishing an operations centre at Lysaker. Lundin Norway’s roles as a member of the local chamber of commerce and supporter of the Norwegian College of Elite Sport were also noted Arild I. Pedersen from Nordea, who presented the award.
“It was with great pride that I received this award on behalf of Lundin Norway and our employees,” says Managing Director Torstein Sanness in a comment. “There were not many of us when we arrived in Bærum almost ten years ago. The support we have received from Bærum municipality, as well as the service companies in the area, has contributed to our growth and is the reason we choose to stay here when we have to move to larger offices next year. This was a deliberate choice.”
Lundin Norway moved in to Godthaab in 2004. According to an analysis conducted by Menon Business Economics, our activities have an employment effect of over 600 people in Akershus County. The combined effect on the labour market in Oslo and Akershus totals 1000 employees. The value creation effect of Lundin Norway’s activities is nearly NOK 5.5 billion for Akershus and about NOK 0.5 billion for Oslo.
The jury members for “Company of the Year” are representatives from Nordea Bank Norge ASA,
Bærum Næringsråd (chamber of commerce), Budstikka Media and Bærum municipality.
