Per Øyvind Seljebotn is taking over the position as Exploration Director in Lundin Norway. He will also continue his responsibilities for the reservoir development department, which he currently heads.
Per Øyvind Seljebotn holds a master’s degree within geophysics. He has more than 20 years of experience from the petroleum industry with various roles within exploration and reservoir development in companies such as ExxonMobil, Noreco and in Marathon, where he was Exploration Manager from 2010 to 2012. Seljebotn has been with Lundin since 2012.
He looks forward to embarking upon the new job.
“There are two reasons why this is one of the industry’s most exciting jobs. First, I get to lead one of the world’s most competent exploration departments. In addition, Lundin is one of the most ambitious exploration companies in Norway when it comes to technology and exploration programs,” says Per Øyvind Seljebotn.
He will succeed Halvor Jahre who has held the position as Exploration Director for the last five years.
“It was time to pass on the torch,” says Halvor Jahre. “I have had the privilege of taking part in the most exciting exploration activities on the Norwegian shelf through my ten years in Lundin, the last five as Head of Exploration. Now it’s time for me to take a break and think about what I want to do with the next ten years of my working life,” says Jahre.
